I bet I know of one member here who will love this!

No snark - a Federal Judge in Florida just overturned the Biden Administration's masking law on planes and other forms of public transit.

What do you'all make of that? Rob

People have had enough.

I have read numerous stories of toddlers being harassed by flight crew for not wearing cloth masks which do nothing to stop transmission of the virus. Meanwhile in the bars at the airport lounges people crowd together maskless and drink up.

I am feeling more and more that I do NOT live in the "United" States of America.

I am a little surprised that we haven't seen parallel tracks for some things:

On well travelled routes with multiple flights per day - masked flight, nonmasked flight

Masked classroom, nonmasked classroom

Masked day at the library, nonmasked day at the library

Etc

How about more information?
Is this recent (after it went from Pandemic to Endemic), or is this a case from when it was listed as a full blown pandemic?\
Define public transit? Tax payer funded, I would assume. (does it cover private transport, taxi's, private planes, etc?)
Does this prevent the airlines from enforcing their own ban?

What was the Judge's reasoning? Without reading the decision, it'd be hard to develop an informed opinion.

You can read the decision here (https://www.documentcloud.org/documents/21636220-047124235804). The judge seems to have found that the mandate was unlawful as it exceeded the statutory authority of the CDC and violated administrative law.

It always amazes me how people think they don't have to social distance and can fly around the world to attend gatherings because the little piece of cloth will save them.

ever think it's not about them but about people being able to get to work on busses and wanting masks to reduce risk? Is that me? No, only the very poorest don't own cars IME. But that's not noone.

Local buses used for commuting are covered by municipal mask mandates most places. Interstate bus travel will likely change.

I am about to take off for work. I'll take a mask kicked but it should be interesting as I understand at this moment masking is no longer being enforced per the Federal judge's decision in Florida yesterday. Rob

But that's not noone.I'm no longer poor and I have zero interest in a car and it's constant bills. No Thank You. Luckily I have found Nirvana - a halfway decent paying job not requiring me to move closer to working for free via the extra bills a car generates. Rob

Now Biden's DOJ may fight to keep the mask mandate. Maybe this will save his presidency - ya think it's the hill he should die on?
