As predicted by CBS and Walter Cronkite.
Youtube's algorithm is always serving up stuff I didn't know I wanted to watch. Like this video. It's from the mid 60's and predicts what homes will be like in 2001. Well, it's 21 years after 2001 so we know what that future is now...
Some of the predictions are eerily accurate (the control panel enabling people to choose anything they might want to watch on their giant tv with big wall mounted high fidelity speakers is only off because the size of the control panel will be the size of a smartphone instead of a big one purpose tabletop monstrosity, or the prediction of what is essentially a ring doorbell camera) but some of it missed reality by a little bit... The same with the work from home part. All the stuff that will be done while working from home is pretty accurate but again, it is all being done via one small device, not through a whole room full of separate devices.
Not so accurate are the predictions that microwave cooking, still a novelty at that time, will become the standard and that robots will take over most household chores.
