I am starting a new organizing project and wanted to share the idea if anyone wants to join in. Each day in 2023, I am going to clear one shelf. A shelf can be an actual shelf, a flat surface on top of a piece of furniture, a shelf in a bookcase, etc. What's important is that it is one shelf a day that I hold myself to.

We did this a couple of days ago with the jigsaw puzzles and it felt great. I also want to deep clean the shelves at the same time so the house gets cleaner. I'm having some health issues that make mobility hard, so this way, it's small and not overwhelming. I thought I would also change out the kitchen shelf paper this week prior to the start of the New Year. But that could also be part of the shelf project.

Anyway, that's my plan!

Day 1: Beside table. Lots of books. Maybe I need to pick one book at a time and just read that. Currently working through Making Peace with the things in your life which relates to the project, trying to figure out what I have an organize it and figure out why stuff piles up

Day 2: 1 shelf turned into3, as did the three shelves on the refrigerator door. We had 5 days with no power and I need to make sure everything that might have spoiled is out. Almost blinded when an apple cider jug exploded when I touched it. Good Lord. Expiration date was December 23, so it wasn't that old. . .

I joined a group on FB for quilters called Decluttering for 2023 starting Jan. 1. A gal does an organized decluttering and we share for support. Have half a box of books already and two things in the donate box. Problem is just too much craft stuff. Some decades old.

I like the one shelf idea for the rest of the house. Will start with the linen closet.
