So now one of my DBs won't talk to me. In our last convo I tried to steer clear of controversial topics but he had to hammer me with his covidian views. So I presented some criticisms of Fauci. He then emailed my other DB complaining that I am picking on Fauci (who none of us know personally). DB #2 did not respond because he said, "There is nothing I can say to console him."

Imagine if he knew I am spearheading a local grassroots effort to get a Republican to run for mayor.

Your post reminds me of something one of my favorite authors in the world, Armistead Maupin, once wrote:

“Sooner or later, though, no matter where in the world we live, we must join the diaspora, venturing beyond our biological family to find our logical one, the one that actually makes sense for us.”

He wrote that in a very different context and way before covid was a thing but given your commitment to your covid opinions it seems suitable for you as well.
