Does it seem that the President is shifting rightward recently? After two years acting like the bellicose scourge of oil, the Willow Project in Alaska gets meekly approved. The critic of the previous Administration’s border policies makes it known he may be bringing some of them back. Past rhetoric about DC autonomy is forgotten to sign the Congressional block of a proposed carjacker-friendly new penal code.

What do you think explains this? A reevaluation of principles in light of current voter sentiment? An effort to show the left wing of his party who’s in charge? A transient period of lucidity?

I suspect Biden is willing to sacrifice a little climate change to pull in a few voters who's mental well being is based on the price of gas. Politics.
