New diner type decor, purposely rude waitresses. Funny concept. This chain is mostly in Australia but for some reason they located one in St Louis, in an old restaurant in the city.
We will go there the next time we are in town and will let you all know how bad the food was and how rudely we were treated!
If it makes me laugh, it is a win. I plan to take DH there without telling him about the concept of the place.
Sounds like Dave and Buster’s.

Okay---You dudes should hope they throw the dinner rolls at you, like they do in downstate Zurra. Plus, I hope they charge you dudes prices like they do at Seven-Eleven Missippissi. Yup. Also---send your food back, and tell 'em to cook it right. See what they say. 5280
I don't know that I'd enjoy that, but it does sound interesting.
I've been to The Blind Cafe a few times, and it is an incredible experience.

we ate at 1111 Mississippi just two weeks ago. Man you really have a boner for that restaurant.

A coupla years ago there were blind dining experiences in pop ups in St. Louis. I don’t know if they are still doing that sort of thing,it sounded very interesting.

Hwy 169 is the eastern boundary, dude. But yeah--what you dudes should do, is visit Karens & bring your very own cuts o' lockered beef, for them to perepare. For a small fee, of course. Test out the Dudes senses' o' humor, by god. Yup. Y'might even try that at Seven-Eleven Missippissi, too, since you dudes seem to have a "boner"(as they might say in western iwah) for that place. Okay---here's a cartoon that utilizes some Western Iwah Humor. The saltier and the earthier, the funnier. Yup. Just to give you dudes an idea. Sorry to be so coarse and vulgar. But thats the way they talk up there, to differentiate themselves from East Iowa libtards, I guess. Enjoy, Dudes528152815281

Okay---one other thing. Western Iwans' all-time favorite comedian is the late Gene Tracy, out o' cattle country, yokelhoma. If you've never heard o' that dude before, you can find clips of his humor on u-toob. Thank mee.

I think there's a touring company that does it as pop-ups all over. No schedule yet this year is posted, but they promised to come back to the Seattle area soon.

Okay---read about this dude from Iwah. Also, note that Otto Rohwedder exited Iwah, asap. So did Glenn Martin and Lee Deforest. Yup. Dudes were too smart for the place. All you need to survive there is a love of salty & earthy & crude jokes. See?528352835283
Ed Debevic's in the original "rude diner." I went to their LA location, but they originated in Chicago. It is a fun experience!

Ed’s diner sounds like this Karen place, they are ripping him off. I would like to see the worlds smallest sundae that is human size.
the ice cream “ Fountain” Place in St. Louis advertises they have the worlds smallest Sundae but I imagine there are several competitors for that title.
Okay---You dudes should hope they throw the dinner rolls at you, like they do in downstate Zurra
The fella that started that, Norman Lambert, was my high school PE instructor. I still think of him as Coach Lambert.

Oh! Lambert’s Throwed Rolls! A well known Missouri institution.
decades ago, we went to the one in the Ozarks, the one by the lake.

Okay---Heres a photo o' Lamberts' Toomb. He is one oi' Zurras most celebrated people. Just like Chris Christensen is one oi' Iwahs most celebrated people. But, the company chris founded in that same little town wherer Alaskas' most infamous serial killer spent his boyhood, has since moved hweadqurters to Zurra. Yup. Just like the lumber chain from that very same town moved ITs' HQ to Zurra, then went broke. This 'puter sits on a shelf made with boards from store #1, in 1974. Yup. But ytyeah---see photo.5285528552855285
Not new - this was the concept behind Durgin Park in Boston.

There used to be a well-known place in Boston, Medieval Manor. Apparently there was a medieval castle theme, and you ate with your hands, and were treated rudely, and needed the king's permission to leave the table, etc. That did not sound like a pleasant dining experience to me so I never went there. I can have a very nice meal at home for a reasonable cost without verbal abuse.

Yeah, we went to Ed Debevic's once and while it was sort of funny, I certainly wouldn't pay for it again. As a frugalista, I can find plenty of rudeness for free, thank you very much! ;-p

Unfortunately, rudeness is an infinitely renewable resource!
Apparently so is nudeness:

Okay---I'm now thinking that I might use the storefront part of my leased building in Herman to open a gimmicky restaurant. See---we'll staff it with our clients from the homeless community & also recruit cooks, kitchen help and waitstaff from work-release inmates at the area correctional facilities. Yup. Maybe we can make a difference, by diverting a violent offender from a life o' crime, into a productive career as a server or cashier at an upscale restaurant. But yeah--They just need the training and job experience, right? So anyway-----this should be great. Thankk Mee.5296529953005301

I don’t want to pay someone to be rude either. Too much in real life. IL, I sent you a private message to one of your accounts:)).

OkAY---What I meant to add to my gimmicky rest-o-rant scheme in my leased building in Herman is that we will feature a FREE fish Dinner, for our patrons. But yeah--there are some terms and conditions. Yup. So anyway--ya gotta eat the WHOLE darn fish in under 20 minutes, keep it down for another 20, and of course--pay the normal menu price of $50, in advance, which will be refunded by mail in 90 days or so, IF you finish the meal in the allotted time. . But yeah---the refund will be a credit slip for MORE yummy dinners at Bob-O's Elegant Fine Foods. See photos. Yup.53025302530253035303

Okay---one other thing---at Bob-O's, we will be having complimentary "Throwed Rolls". See--the convicts we hire who are serving time for crimes such as assault ot domestic abuse or even attempted murder, will probabkly enjoy hurling a rock-hard dinner roll at our diners. But yeah--of course, we'll award a Free Dessert of our yummy anchovy pudding to any patron who sustains a black eye or bloody nose, if hit by one o' them Throwed Hard Rolls. Yup. That should keep everybody happy. Thankk Mee.

Okay---I just formulated a new set of marketing gimmicks for my chain of Karens' Restaurants. See---first, you have to make reservations, long in advance. I should say---you must submit a request for reservations. After a twenty-item questionaire, your request will bwe submitted to our reservations committe for review, and a vote. Then, you will be formally notified. If at first you don't succeed, you may file an appeal, along with a non-refundable fee. But yeah---if you are accepted, you MUST arrive at least two hours before your scheduled reservation to be seated. Please---send a text message from the parking lot, and you will be asked to get in the waiting line, outside the building. As you near the entrance, a member of our staff will inspect you & members of your party, to make sure you're properly attired and groomed to our standards. We reserve the right to decline service to those who are not. Before you are led to your table, you must present a credit card, so that we may ascertain that there is enough funds available to pay our estimated meal fees, restroom fees, etc. Nothing is for free. Even our gratuity is calculated by outr cashier, and based upon the amount of time the server devotes to attending your table, @$400/hr. plus 35%, which will be shared with the kitchen staff. Small children are not permitted. Elderly people are not permitted. People using wheelchairs and walkers are permitted, with a $50 additional charge, and will be seated out of sight. All food must be consumed, on site; none will be allowed to be taken with the patron. There are more rules; but that's just the start.

Here in tiny Hermann we have a DMV office where two employees work, and there is never a line. They are always cheerful and helpful. One time DH had to wait behind one person who is being serviced, but every other time he walked up to the desk and get his business conducted.
it is pretty much a miracle, and we consider it that. We brag about it to our friends who live in the city, and who have to deal with the dirty DMV buildings, the long lines, the crappy customers, the rude and demanding employees.

DH and I were just talking about the difference in DMVs between NY/NJ and Vermont!! DH called the NJ-style DMV a "Bingo game" with all kinds of lighted signs with letter codes for windows and number flashings (P23! Q102!) and the numbers are about 50 digits from the number you are holding in your hand, and people are occupying every inch of chair space and standing space.
Then my neighbor (a transplanted Long Islander) talked about how amazed he and his wife were the first time they went to the Vermont DMV. He recalled "You walk in, and there's a lady at a kiosk handing out numbers. She hands you a number that says 1. The next second you hear the PA system saying: 'Now serving #1'. The mental image of that scenario is so funny to me--it could be an SNL skit. And it's true.

I have lived in a rural area and personally would rather wait at the dmv as unpleasant as it is.

Definitely different strokes for different folks. I'm going to NYC tomorrow for a couple of days, and all those City lights couldn't compare to the light from the stars I sat under last night--little diamonds set against a dark sky free of light pollution. In NJ we never witnessed such bright stars.

I am a in between city size person. I don’t like the huge cities either. 200-500k population is perfect for me. I like things to do locally but not too big. For instance Kenosha was a good place to raise my kids at 100 k but when I visit we need to go to a bigger city to do things.
The smallest town I lived in was a village of 2k which luckily was only a 5 minute drive on a highway to a town of 20k. Again my kids were little so not like I had money to do anything but now I wouldn’t like it.

That's true--size matters. Burlington is only 45k population, and I think that's a good size. My town is 2100.
