Utah minors internet restriction

Many are not pleased with the influence of the internet/social media on minors. I thought Utah’s new approach might be of interest, although I cannot see how teens won’t easily get around it

I wonder if it means the social platforms need to put SOMETHING in place that acts as a barrier. Then their job is done. Sort of like net nanny web software you can get. There are always ways around it of course.

My last company produced some of the first commercial caching proxy servers, it was my group/project. Entire countries were buying them to run all of their traffic through, to cut their bandwidth requirements and improve response time.

We had to have special HR paperwork for the people working in the group who did any bug analysis using customer crash information. Because, in the late 1990s, to a first approximation, almost every byte of data passing through them seemed to be porn of one sort or another. We'd only let folks look at the crashes in "the Porn Lab", and people without proper therapy resources were not allowed inside :-)

Okay---it's prolly just-for-show, by the folks in Straight-Laced City. But yeah--parents can opt for it, using the same tech the pubbalick lirrrrrerrrys & skoolz use here, to keep the kids from seeing nekkkid bodies on the net.
