I thought $200 for a pair of sneakers was crazy, but then I scrolled on . . .
I don't think I'll be shopping here. Who on earth is the target market for this sort of thing?

If that’s ALL they sell, $200+ sneakers, yes it is a rarified buyer who will keep them afloat. But I have shopped at a Shoe Carnival in lower middle class St. Louis where there is a selection of $150 -$175 Nike shoes, so $200 does not seem that outrageous.

The ones that go up to over $1000, wow. The most expensive pair is $2,800. But it comes with its own special box, so…

I sometimes spend more than $100 on my tennis shoes.

Life is full of mysteries for the simple living among us. I have foot problems and don't skimp on shoes, but it has nothing to do with fashion. I think I've paid a little over a hundred, tops, a few times.

"Michael Jordan laced up a pair of his iconic black and red Air Jordan 13s to bring home a Bulls victory during Game 2 of his final NBA championship — and now they are the most expensive sneakers ever to sell at auction.

The game-winning sneakers sold for $2.2 million at Sotheby's in New Yorkon Tuesday, smashing the sneaker auction record (https://www.cnn.com/style/article/michael-jordan-sneakers-auction-intl-scli/index.html) of $1.47 million, set in 2021 by a pair of Nike Air Ships that Jordan wore earlier in his career."

I have fussy feet and only wear easy spirit shoes and even though I wear a 10 wide I usually pay around 60-70 dollars a pair.

There is a whole world of "sneaker heads" out there that pay high amounts for "just the right sneaker". I have a child that dabbles in the buy-and-sell of such shoes, and I find it totally unbelievable what people will pay for some of these.

I believe it’s all about having something of a well known brand that wasn’t produced in a very large quantity, it ain’t standard, it’s unique, and people nowadays want to feel unique.

I haven’t bought anything above 60,00€. I used to wear leader shoes, now I can’t, I developed Haglund’s deformity on my right foot/ankle, I’ve been using Merrell, currently the Crosslander model.
