Okay---Will you be getting out there, and competing with the 18-wheelers and the Drunks?

Yep, drove to West Virginia today. Treating our train buff grandson to a 4 hour scenic train ride tomorrow. We stopped and ate along the way.

I remember dodging the 18-wheelers and the drunks. I'll be kicking back with a book and some iced tea.

We will be going ten minutes down the highway for a bbq at a friend’s who has a deck on the water. Not many 18 wheelers on our highway but I suppose we may encounter a few drunks on the way home that evening.

My NJ son is coming up with 2 grandkids and will be christening our new camper. We were able to pick it up just in time! We will also be celebrating our VT grandson's 5th birthday at a big party at his house, so I'm spending tomorrow helping DS and DDIL get ready. (Apparently, the day care rule is, if you invite one kid in the class, you have to invite them all. So they are expecting 60 people!!)

I'm staying up in my mountain fastness, and friends and relatives are coming up here for some fun and cooking.

Amazing how day cares can dictate what happens in a personal home. What about sleepovers? I understand the issue of only a few being invited but must be a high end area to have a house that can hold 60 or even a backyard. Hope it does not rain.

We have the Indy500 parade on Saturday and the race on Sunday. 300,000 people attending the race and sometimes it feels like they all are downtown for the parade. We live about 4 blocks from the start of the parade. Traffic is so bad that we try not to go anywhere.

The tourists are coming back and the crazy expensive lobster roll place reopened--it was $40 two years ago when we stopped by, for one lobster roll. It's not even that picturesque or anything. Glad everyone is planning fun things.

We're not planning to go anywhere. We learned a long time ago that holiday weekends are a good time to stay home.

Okay----Indy 500. Memorial Day Weekend. 1964. I was out in the side yard, pulling weeds, next to the house. I had the radio playing, and the song was a cover of "Maybelline", by Johnny Rivers. The Indy race had two crashes, which killed drivers Eddie Sachs & Dave McDonald. Later that summer, two kids from the 'hood were killed on a Honda, late one Friday night. Another neighbor ran over them with his pickup. I see that just recently, there was another fatality at the same intersection. Prolly one of many, since then. Happy Get-out-and-drive!-day. Traffic is murder. Thankk Mee.5474547554765477

I have a couple of favorite bike routes through the hood when people aren't communing to work and the usual trails are more popular.

I went to a party last night close to me and tonight hosting friends for dinner and games. Inviting 60 people to a kids birthday party is insane. That daycare rule is really stupid. For my oldest son’s 6 th birthday I invited his class which was 20 kids and outside. I never made that mistake again. After that I had the kids invite 2-3 friends to do something special that they wanted to do like go roller skating at the local rink.

I could understand not allowing invitations to be passed out at daycare or school unless all are included, but if they are given outside of there then it should be the parents’ choice who to invite.

Okay----I did not attend any little kidses' parties. I was not invited, anyway. Oh, well. That being said---not only was it Memorial Day Weekend, but my birthday, as well! I know full well that when you get to be my age, there some things you just can't do, on account of it. You just have to accept the fact. But yeah---I wanted to make sure I am still able to go to the self-service wreckin' yard, and pull a good, used motor. Out of a van, no less. They can be a booger. Ha. Bottom line---I pulled a motor during the Holiday 50%-off sale. How do you like that? 54905491

Okay----TYVM, RR and HS. I had to leave the Catts Home Alone, while I was at the wreckin' Yard. But, they need their space for awhile, anyhow. But yeah---You kids are prolly aware of the fact that Dawn Platinum Dish detergent in the large economy size is THE best for cleaning up after a dirty job. It is way better than all the old hand cleaner. Way better. Yup. It is what you need after doing a Dirty Job. BTW, the Tee-Vee guy on the Dirty Jobs is NOT a veteran of a long career in dirty jobs. Nope. He is strictly a show-biz type. Early in his career, he was an opera singer, among other things. But yeah---he's got a lotta mooo-lah for portraying a working man on Tee-vvee, just like John Goodman. See? S'why I don't watch much Tee-vee--it is too phony. Yep. Hope that helps you some. Thankk mee. That being said---Thank You, too.

I believe I learned it from someone on the Forum here, but a 50:50 mix of blue Dawn and hydrogen peroxide is a fantastic stain remover for clothing.

Okay----one o' my case studies took the week off from a health-care job, to travel alllllll the way upta northern minnasoooota to attend the wedding of the daughter of a grade-school chum. But yeah---long way ta travel for any reason. Specially this time o' year, when it's still pretty chilly up north, and steamy already in Zurra. Somebody axxed her to recommend some good restaurants waaaay up dere, and she recited from memory the names of 4 or 5. But yeah---my case study is a travelholic foodie. And it shows. Ha.
