I see the Wagner Group leader had died in a plane crash. The article I read was titled “When falling out of a window is just too subtle”.

Note to self: when my army is at the gates of Moscow, don't stop and turn around.

As I watched the video of the plane falling out of the sky while CNN was covering the "crash", my first thought was "Gosh, that window must have been huge".

I hope regular folks had enough sense to not ride in planes, trains, and automobiles with him since he challenged Putin.

Seems to break with their tradition of poisoning and a lingering death.

This was his private plane.

True, but unless Pregozhin had a VERY trusted person with the plane 24/7 it could have been sabotaged.

The Russians either shot it down (what media reports are saying) or planted a bomb. It happened after being in the air for about 30 min.

News I got says the other passengers were probably his senior staff. I have the impression he was bad man, regardless of his manner of demise. Lived by the sword and died by it.

There's only one thing that I take from such things. This man, Prigozhin wanted to take Putin out and become the next one in charge, like a new wolf battling the alpha, there ain't anything more to it, period. He wanted that, because he established a reputation, maybe the new wolf had an ability to direct and hunt, he could provide certain things, and that granted him a reason to want something more, be in charge. To be in charge, he had to take that position by fighting the alpha, and he could win, or he could die, here's where my dilemma lies, in the dying part. Once the alpha knew his position was in question among the pack, he has to reinsure his position, that's the crash we now see. The new wolf was very naive if he thought he could get out alive.

Now, back to my dilemma. I'd be the wolf that never threatens the alpha to take his place, and be alive, and die old. I don't question this Prigozhin, because we're truly animals, barbarians; it doesn't matter our political, ideological, or moral inclinations and actions, that ain't psychological development, we haven't evolved psychologically, no matter how many measures to save the whale, or the environment, and compassionate things we advocate, that ain't psychological development. The problem with human beings is seeing biological evolution, and believing the same is applying to the psychological sphere, but no development has been made, this since time immemorial. My dilemma lies in the understanding that we are mere animals, still, and probably ever.

One of the more interesting things about having so many dogs in my house as a foster mom over decades has been watching power plays take place in pack behavior. While cats do versions of that, their actions are so subtle I never understood what was going on. The dogs are so clear and simple. They challenge the psck leader and they either ascend or acquiesce. In the group of 7 we had at one time I observed alliances built to run the pack.

If food is not scarce, there will only be no fighting over it, still, there will be those who'll eat more, and those who'll eat less.
Although, there will always be fighting over mating; always. Those who don't take part in fighting, don't take in mating.

Watching nature, is the greatest teacher. The Taoists have been doing it, possibly since the 8th century BC, and deriving a philosophy of how to live in this world from it. We can dress well, and act civilized, but it's an act, and he'll keep that act if there's food for everyone.
