Think it is totally inappropriate for Biden or any president to picket against any organization. WTH

Of all the Biden actions this is not one that concerns me much.

Remember when Ronald Reagan declared the PATCO strike a "peril to national safety", fired 11+ thousand workers, and banned them from any future federal service for life?

Those were the days....

I have no problem with biden showing himself to be pro union. Democrats have long claimed to be the party of the working man but one would have a hard time finding any proof of that in the actions of any democratic president over the last 40 years. On the flip side I can think of countless actions taken by Republican presidents during that time that show them to be pro rich businessmen.

I suspect Biden is making a political statement to show his support for unions and the working class, as much as the immediate strike concerns. I seriously doubt how it could have an effect on the strike outcome and it's really not an issue with me.

I'd have to do some fact checking to verify, but I can think of a couple of examples besides Bae's where the company just to let workers go and replace them rather than meet union strike demands.

To me, that was the first indication that we were about to emerge from that sad era of malaise, stagnation and helplessness.

If a President can punish workers for their quest for a decent life, then I think a President can rightfully stand in support of those workers.

If a President can stop public employees from holding the public to ransom, then I think a President can pander to a union’s special interests.

Yes. As the child of two union workers, I remember this very well. Despicable.
