Seems Robert Kennedy Jr. is now running as an Independent. Good news for Trump, bad news for people who don't want Trump, IMHO.
Do you think that the people who will vote for Kennedy would otherwise vote Democratic ticket?
Well, if he manages to siphon off a few percent of the vote, it could certainly throw the election one way or the other.

I see Cornel West will be running as an independent rather than with the Green Party.

So that makes it even more dicey for the Democrats. Alas, I really like Cornel West, but I'm so afraid of splitting the vote in the wrong direction.

I think Kennedy appeals to a more bipartisan nut job constituency, but West would probably have a disproportionate impact on the Democrats (although likely a small one).
My thinking on third party/independent voting has changed over the years. For the last two elections I decided to vote Libertarian for President because the two major party tickets were so awful. People who complain about their choices but consider voting outside the two ruling parties to be “throwing their vote away” or a vote for the villain of the moment aren’t considering that there will never be a stronger third option if they never support one.
This is one of the reasons I'm often in favour of ranked-choice voting systems.
I notice that the two major parties agree on only one thing in life: ranked choice voting is Satanic, and must be stopped!
I know quite a few Republicans who like Kennedy.

He appeals to wingnuts and conspiracy theorists on both sides of the aisle.

He appeals to a forgotten working class in an era when the Uniparty has increasingly stripped what little wealth they have and transferred it upwards to elites. Why do you think so many workers are on strike? But don't take my word for it. He's now running a 50 state campaign. You're retired, you have time - go hear him for yourself.
