The church where we will have a pottery sale table in December will also be holding a rummage sale in the church basement the day of the fair. I asked if I could donate a couple of boxes of wonky pottery to the rummage sale, and got an enthusiastic yes, so we dropped 2 boxes of pottery off last week.

Was thinking I'd use up some of the sunscreen I have laying around the house as lotion, but it has that distinct odor. Did it last night anyways.

5 books to the Hannaford book shelf. Most of them were from there anyway, but one was not, a really good retirement book, and ran into a lady browsing and gave it directly to her, since she is retiring next year. So a nice conversation and human moment as well as lightening the book load.

Depends on ingredients?

Tybee: That sounds really satisfying.
Jeppy: Your choice of course, but I would not do that. There are too many sunscreen ingredients that are not good for you. I do still use sunscreen on my face on nice days in the fall and winter when I get out for walks, so I would recommend using it for that purpose instead, since I know you try to get out and hike.

It is a local supermarket and in Maine, the ones that are more rural have a shelf where you can donate your old books, and then people buy them for a dollar paperback, two dollars hardback, and put the money in the jar, which then goes to the charity of the month.

That's a great idea!

I absolutely love this idea. Perfect for more rural areas as it will be harder to get books from the library

Small pile today...

Husband decluttered a bunch of paperwork from his "hot rods" folder in the filing cabinet.

Oldest son got rid of a shirt, hoodie, and a drawstring bag.

I gave away a Beatrix Potter "nursery set" via my local FB giving page. It was a Mrs. Tiggywinkle plate, saucer, bowl and mug. No, I don't have kids, but I always had a thing for Mrs. Tiggywinkle, lol. It wasn't seeing much use these days, so it felt like time to release it to the universe.

Shredded a big box of old financial documents. I missed our Credit Union's shred days last spring. Several t-shirts. My work gives out company t-shirts everytime a new batch is
printed for sale. I always pass on the tee shirts and free calendars. Eyeing several items in the garage that will be gone soon. Just gone... :) Also a medical office uniform my dd left when she moved out a couple of years ago (doesn't fit), misc water bottles, cleaned out "plastics" cupboard. Tossed all the mis-matched plastic tubs, containers, etc. I would have gotten rid of more, but I asked too many questions, if you get my drift. My bedroon closet has lots of board games. We rarely play board games and if we do, it is some new game the kids bring over.
I suggested we "downsize" the board games. Vetoed. Perhaps another day.

LOL on the board game veto, Greg. I get the same response when I suggest a downsize in games. Congrats on all the other stuff gone!

Good work Gregg, Always interesting to check about clearing out...never know what is "keepable" just in case.

Just posted two electric heaters, small bottles of OJ, regular/decaf instant coffee, and some tea I had too much of on local Buy Nothing group. Also a case of shelf stable milk. Having 3 is too much for my storage space. Figured a family could use it. Same with a bunch of tomato soup. I have to watch how much acid I’m consuming.

Husband just sold a keyboard on Craigslist, met the guy in town and dropped it off.
Just took three funeral urns to Goodwill--these were the ones we didn't use, obviously. It's a long story why there are three but we could not use any of them in the niche space. They have been sitting in my living room and I am thrilled to have them gone. Now to figure out what to do with the one we did use. I guess it can go in a box in the attic until someone dies and we need it.

I thought for sure I'd get rid of more Christmas decor but when I put out everything, the only thing that didn't have a place was a small JOY sign. That was the only thing I decluttered. I guess I've finally hit my "happy spot" with Christmas decor.

That is a good place to be. The Xmas clutter does get out of hand quickly.

when we lived in the city, I had a whole storage closet for Christmas stuff. I had three regular size Christmas trees and a couple half trees. You would think I decorated like crazy every year, but I didn’t. I had this wish to be on our neighborhood Christmas house tour but I never was on tour at Christmas, we ended up being on a June tour. Christmas stuff was a gazingus pin started by my proximity to the wholesale florist stores, they are like a siren song.

While I didn’t use those Christmas decorations in my house real often, I did drag out some of them at times to decorate other peoples’ houses or businesses at Holiday house tour time.

A few years before we moved to Hermann, I slowly jettisoned all of my Christmas stuff. Now I have only two bins full of it. I have another wish to be on Hermann‘s holiday house tour. But even though I can now buy everything fresh, that would still require a certain amount of decor that is not fresh greenery.

Can finally get rid of some decanting containers because I came ro the realization that I don't like decanting things. Got rid of a Tupperware container that used to hold my dish soap and sponge. Also two glass containers that held my dishwasher pods and laundry pods. I am going back to just keeping things in their original packaging.

A pair of boots that wore out. I now have three pairs and one snow pair, so I am still OK and don't need to buy any.
