View Full Version : Roslyn Carter
Although not surprising, I’m saddened to see that she passed today. Such an honorable lady. We almost named one of our current cats after her. (Ended up naming them Eleanor and Michelle. If there had been a third sister Roslyn would be her name). As bonded as she and Jimmy were I expect that it won’t be long before he follows her to heaven. She definitely lived my idea of a life well lived right up to the end.
I'm saddened by the news too. I always thought that she quietly influenced Jimmy's moral compass and kept him on the straight and narrow.
Like you, I also now expect Jimmy to follow her soon, I told my wife today I'd be surprised if it's not within the next week or so.

I just got off the phone with someone I said the following to - I really believe that they both loved each other. I would not be surprised if Jimmy passed soon now with Roslyn's passing. Rob

A lovely ladyYes. I could not agree more. Rob
I never agreed with her politics, but she appeared to be a good and decent person. I agree Jimmy will probably follow soon.
The two of them are very much the poster kids for ‘couples live longer because they keep each other in line’. I wish their family much love in this sad time.

Okay---it's bad for you kids we lost jimmahs' wife. But yeah--Of all the Cahtahs, I admired Billah the most. Aimmah, not so much. Hope that helps you some. Thanks mee.

Yes, I agree. Politics aside, I did/do like Roslyn and Jimmy. There seemed to be a simple honesty and kindness about them.
I didn't follow politics that much during their days in politics, but they are/were fine examples of living into their 90's, much of it relatively healthy, rewarding, and productive. We could all hope for so much.
I had totally forgot - Jimmy Carter (and Roslyn) came to our town for a whistle stop speech at the local mall. While I didn't get to shake
hands with Jimmy, I did with Roslyn and she signed the leaflet they were handing out. What a long rich simple life they have had.
