I'm Jay, a late-40s guy living just outside Austin, TX. I'm a librarian by vocation and a divorced father of two elementary-age kids. My hobbies are tabletop RPGs (Dungeons & Dragons, etc.), making music, hacky sack, natural movement, vegetarian cooking, Bible study, and reading. Simple living has been an interest of mine since discovering my inner hippie in college and reading Duane Elgin's Voluntary Simplicity and Alicia Bay Laurel's Living on the Earth. There have been ups and downs in the journey since then, in this season of life I have a renewed appreciation for the challenge of living simply with contentment.
