The credit bureaus have an incorrect birthday for me. This has been going on for a decades if I remember correctly. I’ve just never got around to fixing it because when I investigated what it took to solve, there were a lot of hoops to jump through. Something about getting some documents notarized or some such thing.
I had forgotten about it except then it came up a few years ago when I was standing in Best Buy and they offered a discount if I took out a Best Buy credit card. So I made the application while standing in the store and it didn’t go through.
I got a second credit card 15 years ago and this incorrect birthday was not a problem then..
Now, with the Social Security data breach and other breaches, I wonder if I should even bother to fix it. If only I know the date the credit bureaus use for my birthday, isn’t that a another layer of protection? Hmmmm.
