I’m not kidding. You’ll remember me posting a while back that the Indian half of the owners claims to have done a study during Covid and people were 30% less productive. So regular remote isn’t allowed. Turns out that 3 people we thought were working out of our other office an hour away are allowed to work remote. All have been with the company less than a year. All Indian men. A fourth Indian guy was asked if he wanted to work remotely, but he prefers to be in the office.

We are PISSED. There are people that have been here 10+ years that aren’t allowed to WFH.

Are their job functions similar or dis-similar to the rest of the staff?

Everything we do can be done from home. Owners just don’t like it. No one is allowed to WFH on a weekday without written permission from manager. If you do it anyway, you’ll get written up. What these Indians do is similar to everyone else - working on shipments. Only a few of us have the capability to WFH. I only have it as I have to do urgent shipments on weekends. I had to jump through hoops last week to WFH one day last week when I was out sick with bronchitis.
