View Full Version : Bernie interview on NYT Daily podcast
Very interesting interview with Bernie Sanders out today. He’s saying Trump had an explanation for what’s going on, wrong, but he had one. The Dems didn’t. He says the Dems have forgotten about working class people and their economic struggles.

Thanks for letting us know! I found it on YouTube. Great interview. I love Bernie. Honestly. And he was so curmudgeonly to the interviewer, but I loved that, too! He doesn't miss a beat. He's one of the most trustworthy and reliable politicians out there--no matter what people might think of his politics.

okay----I know it's a little late in the conversation, here, but did Bernie ever do anything about his hair? Doesn't seem like a man with his hair could draw enough votes for dogcatcher, much less POTUS. Bernie=Bad Hair. But yeah---looka this. All he needs is a mustache, and he'd look like Al Eisenschtein, alleged genius. Ha. (see photos) He could also use some makeup, prior to any public appearance. Yup.61496150
It's too bad Bernie hasn't been able to present a more popular persona to the masses. It turns out he's especially right about a couple of things. Keeping big money out of politics and expanding government health insurance. However, I think everyone has their favorite theory on the election results, and I don't share his and he can be like a broken record. Although it probably wasn't just one thing.

Hey, come on--at least Bernie's look is authentically Bernie! I'd vote for him just for his mittens! I just saw that the Bernie mittens meme actually has its own Wikipedia page!

So who says he isn't a style influencer??

Well, the mask does hide his perennial snarl:).
That attire might catch on in Vermont. And I am a fan of Darned Tough socks and have a Burton jacket, so maybe I'm cool. But not cold.

lol.. :)
You or maybe some of your folks in Vermont might know of when Ibex garments were made there. Maybe 10 or 15 years ago, then they outsourced overseas and eventually out of business. I have an Ibex vest I've about worn out and have browsed eBay for a replacement. Good wool is hard to beat in our dry cold, but really nice in humid cold.
I used to produce a monthly newsletter at my former employer. For a time I photoshopped meme Bernie sitting with his mittens into one photo per issue, just to see if anyone noticed, but mostly for my own enjoyment.

I used to have an admittedly crackpot theory that a candidate had to have good hair to win the presidency, but Trump blew that all to hell.

That is still a viable theory. Just because it doesn't apply %100 percent of the time, does not disprove it. It might be more accurate to say that it increases a candidate's chances by several percent. That would be all it would take. Yup. Hope that helps you some.

I used to notice how bad Hillary Clinton's hair was when she was not actively in politics or running for office. As soon as she decided to run for something, somebody got her to clean up.

Good point. I guess more broadly, how photogenic a candidate is, and how well they "perform" on TV, can play a big part in a candidate's electability. I honestly believe that a lot of folks voted for Trump because they find him to be entertaining.

Ick, I cannot even bear to look at him. So smug.
