Today I was off but had to attend a work meeting in the burbs. I came home right afterwards to find SO extremely stressed out - turns out that Idaho is wanting the SCOTUS to rescind same sex marriage.

Like that's it, that's finally it. I don't know what is going to happen here but if this passes I can't live with myself if I remain in this country. How this is going to play out and how this is going to look I don't know but I may be living in Mexico sooner than I thought.

SO and I deserve much better. No exceptions, no excuses and no equivocation. I will not be one of those who stay to litigate and potentially cash in. I just want out. Will keep you'all updated. I also have to factor my Mother into this who is essentially healthy but has balance problems, slight dementia, and she has slowed down significantly (but this last is likely a function of age).

I always knew from the moment same sex marriage passed that it would be taken away down the road. The United States is far too inhumane to let human rights at this level to stand. Honestly, if you want human rights to stand over a long period of time, the United States is not a country in which you should be basing yourself. Sad - but true. Whatever. It seems to be about moving on now. Rob

Even though this legislative action from Idaho is only a letter to the Supreme
court, I am sorry, Rob, to see it.

i thought Idaho was more liberal. I wouldn’t be surprised to see this come from my home state of Missouri. All those Californians moving to Idaho doesn’t seem to have affected voting.

This is wrong.

I'm so sorry.

Like you, I didn't have too much faith that same sex marriage rights would stick around long once it passed given the bigoted nature of many in the US, but I was excited that it passed; it still felt like we took a major, progressive step forward.

So upon reading news regarding the push for revocation of same sex marriage, I felt a lump in my throat, to say the least.
