What if you lost access to your Apple or Google. account? Do you have photos and contact list backed up another way? What about all your passwords?

I’m all Apple, except that I’ve been using Gmail since 2008ish or so. I have all my iPhone contacts backed up to Google account. I also use Google Photos and Google Drive, in addition to the Apple equivalents.

I use the Apple Passwords app, but I’m considering changing to Bitwarden or the like so I also have access via my Windows laptop.

This is another reason I use Kindle books. It’s platform agnostic.

You're more tech-using than I am, Tradd. My passwords are printed and in a file drawer as well as an excel sheet on a removable USB stick. I don't store them on the computer or phone or the like, basically for fear of getting hacked.

As for photos, I need to take the time to organize them again - especially after my trip. Phone photos go to the micro sd card in my phone, as do digital camera photos. I'll just remove the cards, load to my removable hard drive and start organizing on that.

If you haven't guessed, I don't trust "the cloud". LOL

What about your contacts? Aka your digital address book? Do you have a list somewhere of family/friend phone numbers and addresses?

I don't think I'd lose a whole lot if I lost my contact list, but I just recently bought an external hard drive, so if all else failed, I'd probably have that.

As for passwords, I'm pretty old-school. I write them down in a little memo book. I've had to get another little book because I have so many crossed out passwords for most of my applications! One reason I stick to that is because I've told my kids if I die suddenly they'll be able to find my log-in details for almost everything really easily. (I also keep my passwords in the Cloud so that they autofill).

I don’t have backups for contacts. That is probably a mistake. I certainly don’t have backups of my photographs.

Given many/most of them to my brother/family, in case/for when something happens to me. Brother uses one to help check/maintain social security email back and forth. Looks like I have already been approved for disability.
Now I have to get off of Jury Duty.

The majority are still in a regular old phone book. lol

Have your doc write a letter for your for jury duty. That’s how I got it of going into Chicago at a huge building and going to a much smaller suburban courthouse instead.

People don’t seem to understand that unless you’re backing up your entire phone to computer or external hard drive you have to make sure to save the contact list.

People often don’t memorize phone numbers these days.

Can't contact lists be exported to a .csv file and stored to your hard drive or wherever, excel sheet maybe?
