here’s a thread where we can ask questions about what other people do in certain situations.
this week since I was on the road quite a bit. I ran into two situations where oncoming traffic on two lane Highways flashed their lights at me to signal there was a traffic cop ahead.
that was nice, but I never think to do this. I guess I should do this. do you all do this?

Yes, I do!
But just today, I noticed that my phone tells me about speed checks ahead when I use the map app to get to a destination. Nice feature!

Sometimes my phone shows speed traps, but not always. And I think every time it does show a highway patrol officer or sheriff, it’s on interstate. It did not show these traffice cops on a state highway.

Two summers ago I got a speeding ticket, the first one I had in, oh, 35 years. Ironically, I got it within 30 miles of the last place I got the ticket when I was in my 30s, in Iowa, not in my homestead in Missouri.
Never have to worry about traffic enforcement here - they don't bother so people drive however they wish.

Maybe.
If I am in an area, that I know is problematic (kids playing in street, cars speeding through, etc), I have done things to make them think there is a LEO in the area, when there is not, but I have also gone the other way.
I grew up with 5000 square foot yards, so kids played in the street and was once walking with the gal I proposed to and her newborn, and was on the outside of them and the stroller (no sidewalks) and missed being hit by an inch. (speeders were related to a local LEO so didn't get into trouble until I called IA, as I also am related to a local cop).
I don't flash my lights to warn speeders. I call dispatch to report them :-)
I've had two speeding tickets in my life, both within a couple of miles with each other and a speed trap where there is a easily missed speed reduction. Rumor is that it was a source of revenue for the small community nearby. I think now the monitoring for that area is by speed cameras where you just get a ticket in the mail.
The only time I've use flasher lights is to warm of some sort of hazard ahead, like a wreck or wildlife in the road. Unless it's a speed trap like I had, I have little compassion for people speeding and no special desire for a warning.

The two speeding tickets I got, I deserved - I was speeding! It was a choice to speed, I knew the consequences of my actions (getting caught, getting in an accident, hitting something or someone, etc) and I readily admit and accept them. And, no, I don't signal speed traps.

Yes. I flash my lights. The only time I reported to police was once when traveling at night in the rain a semi was weaving erratically and just missing cars. Either the driver was drunk or falling asleep. I noticed a few miles ahead he was pulled over by law enforcement.
The only time I flash my lights is when someone has forgotten to turn on their headlights.

Same here. And what’s scary is that I see a TON of cars without their lights on when it’s almost fully dark.
