Like a blue tsunami! I am so grateful. Perhaps DJT and all his criminal henchpeople WILL actually face justice? And imprisonment on another continent as they have seriously earned? Perhaps there is hope for those who can not or will not flee? Rob

okay---i interrupt this discussion of whatever it is, to remind you kids that we lost a public servant who did so much for our country(see photo), even though he suffered five heart attacks and a transplant during his life, and his daughters were somewhat wayward--one an Alphabet Person and the other a RINO. I'm seeing headlines like Democrats win big and blue tsunami. Hopefully a good sign. I think the next big landmark will be the Supreme Court ruling on tariffs. That's seems to be one of Donalds biggest bargaining chip, although there may be a way around anything.

(I will never be able to think of Dick Cheney without recalling his infamous quail hunting incident where he shot one of his hunting partners.)

(I will never be able to think of Dick Cheney without recalling his infamous quail hunting incident where he shot one of his hunting partners.) Oh Lord, me too. I really enjoyed hearing my very pro-gun, conservative, but VERY pro gun-safety brother tying himself in knots -for weeks- trying to figure out a way to explain Cheney's disconcerting "incident" without using the word "dumbass". I miss those days, lol.

I’m very pro-gun, pro-gun safety, and have been teaching firearms safety and skills for 40+ years now. Cheney was a dumbasss.

Oh for sure, no way around that one! :)

He was a dumb ass without the hunting incident, too. 28 gauge Perazzi.

I think they were quail hunting, and 28g is perfectly fine for that, and some people prefer it for “reasons”.

Then again, I hunt upland game with a 12 gauge pump shotgun and a Basset Hound, so I’m more from the trailer-park side of the tracks.

okay---you kids even mentioning the hunting accident reminds me of the time that a Democrat running for President had already KILLED a 16-year-old girl with a rifle. He didn't like to talk about it, though. And then---there's Ready Teddy Kenn-o-dee, drowning that young lady. Plus, yObammas' Daddy killed someone in a drunk driving wreck, and lost his legs in another one, and finally died in a DD wreck. Stuff Happens, tho, don't it?

A 28 gauge Perazzi is certainly the choice for a refined gentleman of means. Good thing he was not using the ubiquitous 12 gauge. He might have ended to poor man's life.

I have owned a vintage side by side with double triggers and an Italian O/U but have always done better with a pump when hunting. However, the side by side might have been more fun.

Whittington was sprayed with birdshot pellets to his face, neck and chest and suffered a minor heart attack due to a pellet near his heart.

The accident also spawned countless jokes. Jay Leno, then-host of "The Tonight Show" on NBC, quipped that Cheney would be capitalizing on the accident for the upcoming Valentine's Day with a new cologne named "Duck." Billionaire Bill Gates greeted his audience at a conference by saying, "I'm really glad to be here. My other invitation was to go quail hunting with Dick Cheney."

What I liked about Dick Cheney was the way he held fast to his principles in an age of triangulation and flip-flops. With the possible exception of Mike Pence, he was the only modern VP who seemed to have no interest in becoming president. He endorsed Harris in 2024, apparently on the assumption that a bad character was worse than no character at all.
