View Full Version : Mail to Italy Lost?
DD went to Italy and forgot her Italian dictionary. I mailed it to her for less than $10, but couldn't get a tracker on it at that price. The next price up was something like $49 with a tracker. They said it would be 6-10 days. Well its been 15 days and she still hasn't received it. Is there still hope?

Don't know about the "hope" question, but when I sold books on Amazon, I offered Global Priority Mail, and sent stuff that way and it always got there o.k. and wasn't prohibitively expensive, at that time in the ten buck range.
I can't imagine, unless she's stuck in some small, rural village, that she couldn't just go into a store somewhere and buy an Italian/English dictionary. I'd just go that route, myself.

They might have meant that the package would get to Italy in 6-10 days. That's different from saying that your daughter will receive the package in 6-10 days. The only thing the US Postal Service has control over is getting the package to Italy. Once it's there, the Italian Postal Service would take over. Depending on where in the country your daughter is and how close to a major metropolitan area, it might take a few days. (I don't know anything about the post office in Italy, but I have had siblings living overseas and the quality of mail delivery varies greatly.)
And, unfortunately, there's always the chance that the package got lost.
