View Full Version : Etiquette when living on a golf course

We just bought a condo on the 1st tee of a golf course. The deck is probably 200 ft from the ladies tee and 300 feet from the men's tee. There is a large pine tree blocking us too.

When we are out on our deck talking (not loudly) but just living our life, we wondered if we need to be quiet?

My instinct says we should go ahead and live our lives on the deck while at the same time trying to respect the players who are teeing off.

I hear them talking loudly too so it is probably fine for us to go about our business.

I am probably sensitive to this because my dad and husband are golfers and so I know the etiquette of shutting up when someone is hitting the ball.

Thanks for any insight you have!

Normal conversation and normal laughter should be fine. I think they would of taken that into consideration when they plotted the course or built the condos. It's nice to hear someone talking about trying to be sensitive to the needs of others though - You get a gold star!

300 ft is 100 yards. And a tree in between. The builders knew what they were doing when they built your condo. I'm a golfer who very much wants silence when I'm about to swing. And I say go ahead and live your life. Talk and laugh. You wouldn't bother me. And I doubt that your talking is audible from the tee anyway.
