Just wanted to drop some news of my life here, interesting and positive news....Long story but I have just acquired a 1/3 of an acre lot in Douglas, Arizona, real close to the border for extrememly cheap from the family of a family friend we have been taking care of off and on again who has late stage Parkinson's....Don't know what I am going to do with the land if anything to be honest but that cheap to get it off the books I had to grab it. Love the climate at that altitude in Arizona if nothing else....4,000 ft. Rob back in the city once more

Congrats, that sounds great. It must be a good feeling know you have that piece of land to yourself.

Congratulations, GMTSL! The nice part about acquiring anything (under budget), is you get to saviour the moment. Do enjoy!

Very cool, Rob. Does it have any kind of view, or is it scenic? What's it like? I think it would be cool just to be able to take your car and a chair out and sit there and say, "This is my place."

gimmiethesimplelife,
Are you close to the land, close enough to visit often? What kind of plans do you have in your mind? Is it habitable or camping land? Sounds exciting.

You're a Land Owner!!! Congrats to you. My first taste of home ownership was on a 45'x65' lot and I felt like a land baron.

That is SO neat, Rob........do you have any plans for it? Or just to "put it in your pocket" for the future? Congratulations!!

Hi everyone and thanks for the responses! The land is outside of Douglas, Arizona, not far from the border. I am about 3.5 hours away from it right now being in Phoenix. Right now I am thinking I am just going to hold onto it until further notice.....But I do love the climate at this altitude (4,000 ft.) and there is something very soothing to me about owning land somewhere.....It's always something I can perhaps do something with in the future.....Rob

Congrats!! Can you get a little used trailer - like a 5th wheel - and put it on the land? be a nice spot to spend some time in.

Congrats!! Can you get a little used trailer - like a 5th wheel - and put it on the land? be a nice spot to spend some time in.I was thinking of doing this myself....One of the things on my bucket list is to spend a summer monsoon in SE Arizona, where the storms first hit the state in the summer (this land is right in that area) and where they are pretty intense and spectacular.
