Just wanted to pop in and say hello. I don't get too much of a chance to post these days. A couple of weeks after the baby was born, my father had a series of strokes. He has been in the hospital since that time, and now we are looking at a possible nursing home placement. This has been really difficult to deal with emotionally, and, on top of that, our daughter is very fussy and cries most of the day and night (unless I am holding her upright and walking her around, which is hard to do for hours at a time!). I sure do love her--more than I ever thought possible--but am pretty exhausted most of the time. If I do get a few free minutes, I try to grab some sleep! :)

Anyway, I hope to be able to post more in the future, but it's kind of hard right now. Really just wanted to say hi to everyone--I miss you guys! :)

Kat, have you tried a baby sling for front or back. It would leave your hands free and give her the security of close contact?

i agree about the sling, but my guy liked to be upright as well (no cradle holds ever!) so the wrap worked great because i could easily tie him upright. and, you can use it until they are too heavy for your to carry anymore (DS was about 2.5 when he got too heavy for us). :D

Oh Kat, so good to see you. I have been wondering about you. Thanks for checking in and hope all looks up soon. I have never dealt with either of these things firsthand but can imagine each is more than challenging enough on its own!

So happy to hear from you, Kat. (Your dad is in my thoughts and prayers). Re: your new baby and the sleepless nights and exhausting days, it will get better. Until then, take care of yourself, get all the rest you can (when you can), and look towards tomorrow as being better.
