Today I need to go downtown and run some errands, and one of them takes me to a building right next door to where Occupy Phoenix is set up. So I have no excuse not to stop by and check it out and maybe strike up a convo or two with folks there and see what I think of it, what kind of vibe I get.....Will post later today my take on it.....Rob

About time :). Really most of the occupies have been broken up and driven out by now (although it's not a sentiment that will vanish as long as the economy keeps stinking IMO). I guess they are back in Zucotti.
We had an occupy Calaveras County last Friday I missed it. We had a total of 3 people there. If I had known about it there would have been 5 people there. We live in a very conservative county in California.

Well I am back and yes indeed I did go downtown today and checked out Occupy Phoenix. The first thing that struck me - I noticed two policemen at the edge of where the participants were, staring off into the crowd and my first thought was - why on earth are they there? I have seen the editorials in the local paper about how OWS is costing cities around the country overtime for police that they really can't afford - HELLO, here in Phoenix nothing requiring a police presence seemed to be going on. From what I saw it was mostly a bunch of younger people, perhaps unemployed and/or drowning in student loans, along with a few of what seemed to be homeless people but who knows, I don't want to judge so fast and even if they are homeless, their voice counts too.....I saw a table of food for the participants, which I thought was really cool, and I met a few people and think I will be going to one of their GA's - general assemblies. My sympathies are on their side for sure. Rob
