I have a friend who posts updates on breast health, and the periodic crazy bra article. I thought this crowd would appreciate this one:

Very funny. I think that the bra with pads that turn into shopping bags would be a hit in North America.

Yes indeed, very, very funny! I'm with Leslieann, and think such would be a grand Western World delight! P.S. The suggestion as to what could be done with men's underwear really made me laugh! Gosh, shame on me, but I can't shake the mental image I came up with after reading that.

Every bra I've seen here has HUGE amounts of padding in them! Sadly I already come with too much of my own to ever possibly purchase one, no matter how beautiful or practical a survival bra may be.

This line from the article gives a clear picture of where women stand in the male dominated Japanese culture, "In 2010, Triumph came out with the "Welcome to Japan" bra that features a button that, when pushed, welcomes you to Japan in English, Chinese or Korean. The purpose of the bra was to welcome Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation forum dignitaries and to help boost tourism to Japan."
It often makes me think of what the 50s must have been like. I didn't see too many of us wanting that opportunity when asked in the 50s thread a short bit ago.

Despite the statistics of women dying from breast cancer here the national health insurance refuses to cover mammograms, yet it does cover viagra =(

The rice growing bra sounds like the ultimate for the self-sufficiency crowd. :)
