A couple of bloggers I like a lot use this format occasionally, and I think it's always fun to peek into each others' lives, so let's give it a try...

Right Now I Am...

planning on making Thai red curry for dinner tonight. I used to make this all the time and for some reason had fallen out of the habit.

waiting for all the files to transfer from the failing external hard drive to the new one. I've been trying to get around to this chore for weeks--hooray for long weekends...

watching the TV series Deadwood on DVD. Thanks for the recommendation, fellow posters. I don't think I've ever heard so many cuss words per minute, but it's great TV.

reading about Elizabethan England. I started out with a book on the First Folio, which led me to Shakespeare's "Tempest" which led me to a short biography of Queen Elizabeth. I'm thinking something fictional next...

Great idea!

Right Now I Am...

planning to resume my swimming workouts tomorrow morning. I'd like to work my way back up to swimming 4 mornings per week, between 4500 and 5000 yards each workout.

waiting to hear whether I have a new job. The negotiations on the offer were Wednesday, but the terms first need to be approved by the two other co-founders.

watching Babylon 5, one of my all time favorite sci-fi series.

reading books by two of my favorite positive psychologists: Willpower, by Roy Baumiester, and Mindset, by Carol Dweck.

Waiting to hear if I got into the second art fair I applied to in the Florida Keys in February.

Watching the newest Masterpiece mysteries on PBS.com

Reading the current Discover magazine

Planning to get back to more normal eating habits tomorrow after having too many goodies over the Thanksgiving holiday.

Waiting for some friends to make their moves in a computer game we play

Watching this computer screen because the TV is almost never on

Reading a novel that I picked for emergency reading because the library was going to be closed over the holiday and I was at end of the one I was reading.

waiting for the last few things to cook and steam. We'll be sitting down to eat at 6:00.

anxiously awaiting tonight, when I can sit down again to Youtube, and watch a few more old episodes of Dark Shadows!

P.S. Wishing you, Cdttmm and Tweety, much luck! (Fingers crossed for you).

Anne Lee. A special prayer for you in hopes that the news you await is good. (Fingers crossed).

Right now I am....

Checking the SL forum during my lunch break,

Anticipating a trip to Ft. Worth to see grandsons I haven't seen since January,

Rejoicing because DH has the Christmas spirit already and is out shopping so I don't have to,

Thnking I'm going to have a good weigh-in at Weight Watchers because I mostly ate veggies and turkey Thursday,

Simmering because of the NBA season, end of ATP tennis for a while, and because I'm sick of NFL drama, and because it's months until pitchers and catchers report,

Finishing up a "Knooked" scarf I am making for myself!

Right now I am...

Waiting for a 200 page pdf to finish scanning.

Wondering what my wife REALLY wants for Christmas (not buying into the 'new brakes for the car as a gift' idea).

Wondering if it is humanly possible to lose the 7 pounds I just gained before the next holiday or if it's just simpler to take off 12 in January.

Wrapping up here so I can start my mandatory 45 minute daily guitar practice session.

Organizing holiday tunes on spotify.

Generally coasting toward the end of the year in as relaxed a mode as possible.

Right now I am...

Enjoying the rest of the roasted spiced squash I made yesterday evening. I put more oil on it than I should have, but it was so good...

Happy that the new box of coffee for my Keurig coffee maker has arrived.

Loving wearing a sweater and wool socks in the house (I live in south Texas, so being chilly is a rare treat for this transplanted New Englander.)

Waiting to get the actual, in-hand job offer before I hand in a letter of resignation

...finishing reading this forum while Hoarders and Intervention are on. Disgusted that a woman had four dead cats in her filthy house.

Then I'll turn off the tv, get myself a giant bowl of chocolate ice cream, and watch a few episodes of the series The Book Group on Hulu (Amelia Jane, I enjoyed Deadwood too. If you haven't seen it, try Six Feet Under next).

I'm sitting on my loveseat with damp hair, covered in a warm wool blanket, courtesy of Virgin Atlantic.

Kinda proud that I talked myself out of ordering some things I'll be needing in the near future from Vitacost (10% off and free shipping!)

Right now I

am typing one handed while I feed the baby and really want to move my left knee, but the cat is in the way and he looks so comfortable I hate to move him. Plus he is warming my feet up.

am wishing I hadn't let Cheyenne watch Food Inc on Netflix. She's crying in her room about the animals and I'm thinking she's going to be up with a nightmare tonight. OTOH, while it is annoying that she is keeping her siblings up with her wailing, I am grateful for her kind, sensitive heart and strong conscience.

Obsessing about what high gloss fabulous color I'm gonna spray paint each of a pair of vintage brass chandeliers. Peacocck blue? Celery green? Deep eggplant purple? Fire engine red? Hmmmm.......

One for our bedroom, mostly green and blue with some purple, and one for my textie studio, which has every color in it.

(aha! I fooled the censor by adding an extra 'c' to "peacocck"!)

YAY!!!! Congrats on this long-awaited move back home!

I am:

PLANNING to write the three graduate school recommendations I promised to do for people -- they are due on Thursday and this is cutting it much closer than I should have. I need to get them done tonight.

WAITING to find out if a long-discussed expansion of my role in a key program I work on is going to take place. I hope it will mean another decent raise on top of the performance-based raise I already got, as well as more interesting work.

WATCHING the first year of The Good Wife on DVD. I have gone through 7 of the 8 discs already. I think I'll reward myself with the last disk when I get my grad school recommendations done :)

READING two books 1) All of the Devils are Here. Kind of depressing -- looks at the roots of the financial collapse as tied to CDOs, etc. and 2) S**t My Dad Says. Pretty funny. Started it last night because I was in a bad mood/tired and needed something more lighthearted than book #1. Both books I downloaded free on my kindle from my public library at home -- one of my new favorite pasttimes!

And in case it isn't obvious, I am also on the SL forums as a way of procrastinating on getting started with task #1 under PLANNING! That needs to become DOING soon. But I think I'll have dinner first.

Oh, how sweet! I actually TRIED to get my chicken-drumette loving daughter to watch the chicken farm parts of Food Inc with me as a way of subverting her addiction to massive amounts of chicken. I thought seeing how the poor chickens were treated would either fill her with sympathy or revulsion, either of which would work. No can do. She did think it was kind of sad/gross, but when I asked her "so, are you still going to eat chicken like before" her straightfaced answer was "of course, why wouldn't I?" Kind of wierd actually because she is a very empathetic kid and gets emotional easily. But I guess the threat of chicken withdrawal is more of a concern to her at this point....

LOL. Bella's reaction to Food Inc was pretty much the same as your DD's Lhamo. Cheyenne swore off all meat last night but now says she will eat meat from the small farm we get most of our milk and some of our meat from.

I am hoping the dishwasher gets hooked up so the granite guy can do the measurement friday.
I am processing the couple of meetings I had today, one with the chiro I worked with...she wants me to come back and is willing to accommodate my requests, and another with an old friend I had lost contact with for the last 8 years.
I am wishing that the bf will cook dinner tonight :)
