What is your fondest wish for 2012?

I spent some time thinking about this and one thought really stood out. I would like to see celebrities get less attention and struggling everyday people get much more. Less Jennifer Anniston and more news of struggling single moms. Less Brad Pitt and more news about vets struggling to find work. Less glorification of the beautiful people and more everyday heroes up on the pedestal. What do you'all wish for in 2012?

Make enough to garner some retirement savings and pay for health insurance.

Find a full time job with benefits that uses my brain.

World Peace! Or, failing that, drop 20 pounds. "Portion Control" mantra.

Personal level: The family member who is struggling with recovery to be a success and be a great person again. Nothing else matters but this.
World level: the usual Peace and Happiness
Silly level: Reality Shows and Stars to go back to the real world and get out of our faces

Sell my condo and buy a less expensive larger one so I can get roommates to help with living costs.
Grow spiritually and increase compassion and inner peace (the world is on its own)
Help my friend through double mastectomy.

All 7 numbers (Lotto Max)! Scrimping, saving, pinching, struggling, striving, going without, doing without, making sacrifices, putting dreams on hold... a farewell to all!

Personal: Get dh on board with talking about our future. We are both very "comfortable" in our present status which is a wonderful thing but I am a planner and would like to make some big changes; dh on the other hand likes status quo.
Worldwide: I would like to wake up one morning and hear that taking care of our natural world trumped all other things we are so obsessed with like war, economy, and politics.
These two things among many, many other wishes would make my heart melt.

I can't even think about the state of the world - it is overwhelming to me.

I second this. I have been struggling majorly with "stinkin thinkin". I really desire a mentally peaceful 2012.

I hope that the world-ending 2012 prediction means that there is a change in the world's way of thinking and acting. Less waste, destruction, cruelty, war, like the 'dawning of a new age' that's been promised. News programs filled with good news for a change.

Personally, I'd like to start making some decent money for a change, so I can go out on my own and lead a frugal simple life the way I want to. Hmm, lots of money would make it more fun.
