Here's an interesting site with many uses for baking soda: http://www.bakingsodabook.co.uk/
And another (note that there are ten pages): http://search.about.com/?q=baking+soda
A 2 lb box costs $1.18 at my WMT. When I opened the one I'm using now I marked the date so I can determine how long a box lasts using it for all the things I use it for, including toothpaste, deodorant, shampoo, facial scrub, to clear a mild allergic reaction...
I really like using baking soda to clean out my shower stall floor. It also does a great job on counter stains and getting rid of baked on grease in pans.

This morning, DH overcooked the oatmeal a bit. Instead of scrubbing and scrubbing, I cleaned the pot mostly, then boiled water with a teaspoon of baking soda. When the pot cooled, it was very easy to clean.

My ultimate favorite use for baking soda! Can't remember the last time I had to scrub any kind of baking dish or pot. I just sprinkle a little in, leave it sit overnight, rinse and wash in the morning. A box of baking soda is always under my kitchen sink.
I'm amazed at how well baking soda, cornstarch and coconut oil work as a deodorant. Never thought something so simple could be so effective.
it's more expensive here, but definitely a great option.
i used vinegar and baking soda to clean the bathroom today. Worked nicely. Still need to do the kitchen and finish the garden.
And reorganize the closet.
I used to use baking soda in the diaper pail. At the end of each day, a light sprinkle was all that was needed. Didn't do it all the time, just when needed... And I still use baking soda to keep the fridge fresh.
P.S. Thanks for the great links.
