I was looking at webcams at target and I see that the 20 dollar ones say you can use them as a webcam. The 30 dollars one say you can post video on youtube.

Do you have to get two seperate ones?

What about if I want to video record a basketball game?

Can I get something that does all three? What is the low to high end?

If you go to Vimeo.com they have tutorial videos, and the first ones deal with the differences in the types of cameras. I just did that myself.

That depends upon exactly what you want to accomplish with it. You can post video, made with a webcam, to YouTube or anywhere else with a basic webcam. The slightly more advanced ones simply have a sort of "easy button" (built in software) to automate the process. Which one you should get really depends upon your level of comfort with manipulating files.

When you say you "want to video record a basketball game", it depends on what you mean by that. Do you want to take a laptop with webcam attached to a basketball game? Or do you want to capture video from another source, such as a television set? If it's the former, sure you can. If it's the latter, you need a video capture device along the lines of a TV tuner with video capture software.
