Had a wonderful christmas with DH and the kids, had dinner today with some friends after church.

I'm taking some time off and I'm headed to the farm for a week with the boys. They only have dial-up there so I always use that as a computer free week. Just want to say Happy Holidays and I'll see you in the new year (which I'm looking forward to ).

Have a great time, Float On! Wish I could join you. P.S. Plans for a bonfire on New Year Eve?

Hope you had fun on your trip! I just got back from my 2 1/2 week trip. It got shortened a week because of bad weather and my need to close the sale on my house (YAY!) and move into a temp place while I decide what to do next. Oh no...what to do next?? Undecided as always :-)! For those who spent the holidays away from home, tell us about what you did. Sis and I spent the holidays together playing in the snow up in Northern Calif Sierra Mnts. I also had a computer free couple of weeks - it was great!!

So glad your house is ready to close Spartana!
My week was computer free and wonderful. They only have dial-up on the farm and I just can't sit still long enough for that. Visited lots of family. It was way too windy on New Year's Eve for a bonfire but we did go into town to the park to take a carriage ride through the light display.
Oh and I took a few more photos to add to the cabin blog but haven't uploaded them yet.

I just looked at your album photos of your farm cabin - soooo nice! For some reason I thought it was a tiny shack out in the backwoods but it's really a great place. I can understand why you'd want to spend your free time there. How about some photos of where you kayak. I'd love to see those.

The album photos are of our house we live in near the lake, I posted those because of one of the house threads we had going a couple weeks ago. The cabin farm is something my dad is building on the farm I grew up on about 5 hours from here. It's a pretty simple blog, he wanted to be able to share the experience of building it with my brother who lives in Portland as well as other relatives. http://www.cabinonthefarm.blogspot.com its a very slow process. Dad just had his 70th birthday this last week and he is building the cabin from trees he planted 44 years ago.

Awesome to think that he is able to harvest and use the trees that he planted.

Great blog! And now it makes sense. I thought that your house photos were way to nice to be a rustic cabin in the woods - except maybe for the Vanderbilts :-)!
