In 2002 I saw a trailer at a movie theatre for a film, in which the title, I believe, was the name of the male lead character.

It was a Charles Dickens type thing (or some other famous name of a story that is realy old from England).

I was thinking it was Oliver Twist, but that is about a boy.

This was about a man.

There was romance too.

It makes me think of Great Expectations, but his name was Pip.

I want to say his name was Peter.

Does anyone know?
The name of the film?

2002, so it could be 2003 that it came out.

thank you!

Is it Nicholas Nickleby? My favorite Dickens story of all.

no, that seems to be a bit of a comdey type thing. this one was more romance/darker. maybe it is not dickens. it just seemed like a name that rhymed like peter piper, hahahaha. but it was about a man who was having to juggle a bunch of dark forces or something (woman, benefactor, etc.) which makes me think of great expectations. oh well. ugh. annoying to not know. i had planned on seeing it but it never came out mainstream. i think it was an independent movie maybe.
