I thought this was very neat:

Following the example of coffee shops in Naples, Italy, some coffee shops in Russia are allowing people to "suspend" coffee for others - buy a cup for someone else, whoever needs it.

From Russia, with Coffee! (Instead of "with Love"). :)

One of the most novel ideas I have ever come across! Just knowing ones suspended donation is actually going to the good of another person not as fortunate (all 100% of it, and something so simple), makes this all the more appealing.

Did you also see the part about "suspending" books for children? I really liked that!

Shame on me, Tradd, I missed that part. Just reviewed the article and noticed it (courtesy of your entry). Doubly novel! Ideas such as these really warm the heart, reminding one that kindness does still exist.

I like the idea, but wonder where the term "suspend" came from? In my mind that word means "discontinue" or "pause" or something like that - almost the opposite of a charitable donation.

Not sure about the suspend. It could be a translation issue.
