Welcome! Are you a native Spaniard or expat? We were in Spain several years ago and loved it. Such a vibrant country! Looking forward to hearing more from you. :)

Welcome. I visited Madrid many years ago, a very beautiful place. Wonderful art museums - I especially remember the work of Francisco Goya.

Hi Greg44,

Very good work of Goya. You can find much of his work in Padro museum, which for sure you visited in Madrid :)

Thanks for the welcome!

Hola!

I have visited Spain quite a few times. I even tried to do bits of the Pilgrimage of Santiago de Compostela (but staying in wonderful inns on the way!)
My favourite cities are San Sebastian and Seville.

I did!

I have friends in San Sebastian. Love the Basque country.
I also like Madrid and Barcelona - and SOME of the coast areas (but only some... so many have been commercialised too much for my taste!)

Hello, Meshio,

I also have been to Madrid several times on business, and my daughter lived there for four months. It's a beautiful city! I have done a lot of walking in it. Al Natural--great vegetarian restaurant!

Welcome......my husband did his Junior Year Abroad at Georgetown University, at the University of Madrid, and has such fond memories of your beautiful city. We hope to spend some months traveling in Spain in the next few years, as he's wanted to go back there for so long.

You'll find an interesting community here, and we always welcome perspectives from outside the U.S. since so many of our members are Americans, and we need more of the global perspective, so you are especially welcome.

Hi catherine,

Thanks for the suggestion of the resturant; I have just read some comments of it and... Cannot wait to visit it :)

It is funny but a couple of weeks ago I decided to change my eating habits, going for something vegan... I would say it is a good step for my body's simple life :)

Thank you for the welcome!

Hi KayLRZ,

You should come to Spain then :)

Not sure if you will be able to see Nadal on the streets but for sure you will find very very nice people :)

meshio, good to have you here!

I rode a motorcycle through Espana in 2000 to make a pilgrimage to where my family originates from; Agreda, in the Soria region. Rode all over the country and fell in love with everything about it. I hope to go back again soon. In the meantime I reminisce every time I drink a bottle of Spanish wine. Yum!

Hi!

Wow! I should do something like you and take my motorcycle to visit some of those nice cities… actually Soria is 3 hours from here so… :-)

Regarding wine in Spain…you know… :-) :-)

Thank you very much for the welcome!

Hola Meshio and welcome. I lived in a small coastal/resort town called Le' Estartit on the Costa Brava for almost a year and loved it. Love all of Spain and hope to get back there again one day for an even longer stay.

Humboltgurl - your motorcycle trip sounds awesome. I also ride (or use to - haven't in a few years) and think that would be a great way to tour Spain - and the rest of Europe. Cheaper on gas that's for sure! Someday I'd like to do like Simply Gib (gary) does and ride a bicycle thru Europe. That would be the way to really see everything.
