Just an update on my update.....Turns out my mom is not getting out of rehab until the 22nd, which is this coming Wednesday. It will be nice to have her moved in with me until she is able to be independent once again, and it will be nice not to be running around town so much. Good thing I am unemployed at the moment so that I have been able to be there for her.
I have been doing a lot of thinking as this six week period has unfolded - about priorities and what I would like to do with my life and about work etc. One thing I can say is that taking care of myself has become a much higher priority as it is dawning on me how important good health really is. Something else is that I need to at least try to become self employed and if I wait tables again, fine, but I want it to be a side stream of income and not my only source of income. I also want to get rid of all my excess - for real - and once mom gets situated, this is my next project, just getting rid of stuff. Ebay, yard sales, and charities - I am thinking of whatever clothing does not sell maybe should get passed along to a homeless shelter where they can really use it.
And definitely trying to start a blog and maybe a channel on youtube. I'm very much in the mood to try new things right now, and if they don't work out, at least I know I have tried. Much better than the inertia of waiting tables and feeling stuck.....Rob
