View Full Version : Sleep aid
I've had trouble sleeping since my early 50's. Along the way, I tried scripts for sleep; altho they worked for a couple of weeks, I eventually was immune to them. My new doctor told me to try a pill with zinc, melatonin, and magnesium. I looked around at the health-food stores and couldn't find anything with just those three things. DH finally found them on e-bay. Its been 3 weeks and I've slept well every night except two. I feel so much better now that I'm getting a good night's sleep; its made all the difference. Cost is $10.00/month.
Excellent! For me, getting adequate sleep really is the key to everything else in life - health, stress, everything.
I haven't slept through the night in over 20 years. I sleep fine, but every 2-3 hours I have to get up to pee. I had been taking that for granted until some people IRL pointed out that it isn't really normal.
Glo. Have you ever tried straight Melatonin? I've heard a lot of good things about it, and everyone I talk to about it tells me that it works/worked for them. I think if one can stay away from napping, that in itself works to the better of a good nights sleep.
Reader99. Have you been checked for diabetes? If you have and results are negative, curb all drinking/eating after supper. Nothing after five/six o'clock.
Puglogic. How right you are. Quality sleep is everything. Sleep means less sickness/illness, more energy, a better working system, i.e. regularity, etc, and the list goes on.
Magnesium is the A-bomb! (geezer humor) I also like valerian for relaxation.
No diabetes. It's worse when I consume dairy, so I mostly don't.
