I just heard that a tornado hit Branson, MO. Just wanted to be sure you were okay.

Thank you Cathy, yes we're fine. A sleepless night for sure. I heard the horns over at the dam and got everyone up and into the hall bathroom. We're across lake Taneycomo and on the back side of the cliff from Branson so it was maybe 1 mile from us. We rarely get real tornados here TableRock Lake usually breaks them up but not this one. Hit Kimberling City, Indian Point, the 76 strip, several neighborhoods, downtown, lots of hotels, businesses, restaurants, theaters (music shows), and attractions were hit. It is quite the mess and thousands are without power and they have certain parts of town closed off until they can get rubbish removed. Hopefully they can get repairs made before spring break - tourism is our economy here.
Bad night - lots of tornados and strong storms across MO and other states.
I was really afraid my newest batch of chicks wouldn't make it after being without their heatlamp for a few hours but everyone pulled thru and were hungry as usual this morning.

That's really good to hear Float On! Any damage on your property? So glad to hear the little peeps weathered the storm too! The weather this year has been so bizarre. I'm so glad you're okay.

No damage at my property at all, even with all the wind. A few years back we had a strange storm come thru and we never heard it but woke to find that we had 8 big trees down in our yard, our neighborhood was the only one with damage that time - very odd. I think I've slept lighter ever since then.

Glad you're okay and no damage. We are under a tornado watch/warning at the moment also. Been up watching the radar this morning but looks to be a bit north of the little town I live it, but still in the area.

We had a few storms last night, too. The only tornado in Nebraska was out in the middle of nowhere, but plenty of rain/wind/lightning. Very strange for February around here. It was the first reported February tornado in our state since records have been kept. One more tally mark on a very unusual winter.

The same storm system spawned a tornado thay killed at least 10 people in southern IL.

Oh my gosh I'm worn out. spend the day at a friend's house helping them clean up damage. I will probably be dreaming about shingles and car window glass tonight.
They most likely will be without power for 4 days according to the electric crews.

And here, not that far from southern IL, the storm was a quiet one. We all slept through it.

Glad you're ok, Float On! That storm came through here last night before it headed down your way. I couldn't believe the winds. I thought our house was literally going to blow away! We were without power for hours.

I thought of you immediately when they showed how hard hit Branson was on this morning's news. Sad to see all of the damage. We were just there in December to see the Christmas lights at Silver Dollar City, and it was beautiful with all of Branson decorated for Christmas. I know how the area is struggling in this economy. I hope all will be cleaned up and repaired asap for the spring/summer tourist season so as not to lose more money...

Yes, just heard that too.........here we go again. Hope everyone is safe and this turns out to be a "non-event"! I love a good ole rumbling thunderstorm to sleep to, but not this severe damaging stuff that can be so dangerous!

When there's supposed to be a bad storm at night, DH still sleeps soundly............not me. I guess I'm the early warning system. haha
