50 years, wow. I was only 1 year old, but not many years after that I heard the release of Blood On The Tracks in my parents living room on WABX Detroit, the Lunch time show "Lunch with Louven". I can remember that day like it was yesterday, I was so moved by it that I have been a Dylan respectful fan ever since. So many great ones, yet Blood On The Tracks is in my soul. I say to my family when I pass, no funeral or service, just some sunny day have drink, sprinkle the ashes and play Mr. Dylan and smile.
I even named my son Dylan, the next son Arlo as I felt it was only natural.
I hope you all have some Artist that moves you too:cool:

Bob Dylan a favorite.......but my heart goes to Leonard Cohen.........still sexy while old, old, old........and that low, low voice.......was in a Starbucks yesterday and they were playing Leonard Cohen, and I was able to download a LC song, Banjo, on my iPhone for free as their "pick of the week". I was in heaven, as their ibook "pick of the week" was a great book of short stories, so I got LOTS of value for my glass of iced tea.........

Belies my image as a purist, but I wore out a copy or two of Greatest Hits in high school. Highway 61 and Blonde on Blonde were also casualties of overplay (and probably beer and bong water spills). My parents were never hip enough for Dylan, Elvis is as close as they ever got. Sigh.

I have been a Dylan fan since mid 60's - see my user name. This from, (IMO), his most beautiful, personal song ever, written as a wedding gift for Sarah. DH & I played this song (Sad Eyed Lady of the Lowlands) at our 1969 wedding. But, I got to agree with Loosechickens, there's just something about Leonard Cohen - either you love him or you cringe at that low gravel-ly voice and I am in the camp that loves the man. Sexy at his age? Yes, he still is, and I think he has survived those hard years with so much grace and manners as he ages. Can't be said about a lot of them.

Sad Eyed Lady, I thought that was your reason for your name :)

Another Dylan fan, here. My favorites are "She Belongs to Me" and "The Times, They Are A-Changing". I also like Tom Rush.
