View Full Version : Who do you use for email?
All this Google data gathering - no, thank you! When my Verizon contract is up later this year, I'm going back to the iPhone - I like the iPhone better, anyhow!
I have an old Yahoo account I still used for some things that I'm going to switch back over to.
Yahoo seems less intrusive than Google!
Anyone else?
I use Google. Actually, I own two domains and use Google's servers to process & store mail for me as well as other family members I've set up with personalized accounts.
I'm not overly concerned about data gathering but I am totally impressed with Google's ability to weed out spam email before it hits my in-box. Their spam filters are first rate.
I use Google, and have little concern over them mining anything I care about from my totally-boring email stream.
My business one is through my internet provider (also my phone company), and then I have a yahoo one, and a gmail, and a hotmail. It all blurs together.
I've used yahoo as my primary email account for at least 10 years. I far prefer it to gmail even before Google's data gathering became obvious. I do not like gmail's labels - I need the folders that yahoo has. I've tried others, but it remains my favorite - and I send and receive a lot of email.

Ditto. Several gmail accounts, andour nonprofit uses google docs. Very helpful for a national board & staff share documents.

Same here. I've always preferred yahoo over gmail.

I use an old hotmail acct. for here because it is connected with my user name, but for my regular email acct. it is gmail all the way. Like bae, I am willing for them to mine whatever info from my boring emails that they like.
Another Google, user here.

We use yahoo and love their spam filter. Rarely ever fails.
I use Yahoo for my main e-mail acct (no spam ever) but have a hotmail account I use to "spy" on people on FB since I don't have a FB account myself. I've never actually looked at that e-mail account ever so have no idea if it get lots of spam. I use that hotmail account ONLY to look at FB and it's not given to anyone, isn't connected to me or my real name or my other e-mail account in any way.

Yahoo! for personal and Gmail for work. I actually love the labels. It's organizing my work life nicely, and my e-mail is functioning as my work to-do list at the same time.
Personal is through msn. Work is through go-daddy. No problems with either.
Old fashioned Hotmail user here. Never really tried any others.

I have accounts with mail.com as well as gmail.com. I personally don't see a lot of difference. I set up the mail.com accounts when I got concerned that gmail was going to make me 'open up' my contacts and such when Buzz came out, and again when Google+ came out and they sooo wanted to 'help' me by intruding into my life. My blog is also on blogger, another Google product. As time goes on I'll transition away from google, I have the route mapped out.
