I was quite pleased when I took my blood pressure yesterday, and it was 115/72. It was almost a year ago that I was hospitalized with a bp of 237/173. Of course I'm on medication, but other things have changed.
I lost about 30 lbs. during my 5 day hospital stay. Haven't lost much since, but haven't gained any of it back, either. I am generally very careful about sodium, which seems to be a problem for both me and my mother. That's why I will sometimes rail more about hidden sodium in processed foods than about sugar. I think I would feel pretty good if my back and my knees would just stop hurting, but I guess you can't have everything at once. I use much less processed food and make more from scratch, so I can control what is in it, and that helps satisfy my control issues-he,he. Although I still have occasional moments where I think I will just die if I don't get a potato chip, they are pretty few and far between. I have also cut back greatly on my diet Pepsi consumption, and my stomach is thanking me for that. If they go out of business, you'll know why!
Not a bad anniversary to celebrate, though I"ve had better.
