I listened to this CBC Radio broadcast last night, and the entire history/story behind "Last Supper", was nothing less than stupendous. It's an hour long broadcast, but well worth the listen, and the music played throughout the program was divine.

There was a short blip (http://www.cbsnews.com/video/watch/?id=7404626n&tag=cbsnewsTwoColUpperPromoArea) on CBS' "Sunday Morning" program yesterday talking about all the versions of the Last Supper that have been painted over the years. They were looking at how the size of the plates and portions steadily increased from the earliest works up through the latest. It was interesting and sad at the same time. I suggested to DD (our artistic one) that she might take it all the way and produce a version with McDonald's bags on the table. Life imitates art, after all. Who had the Filet-O-Fish?

I used to have a T-shirt that said "The Last Snack" and it was a cartoon of that painting, and they had McNuggets, cups with straws, fries, etc.

LOL, Gregg and Kathy WI!

When I think of the Renaissance times, I see gala celebrations and events on a scale not seen since that era. Grandiose costumes (dress), more food than anyone can eat, and enough drink to quench the thirst and desire of many men, many times over. Celebrations, that carried on for days, not just hours.
