My dad is so good to me! He informed me this week that as a gift to me (and really, all of us) he is going to pay a housecleaner to come while I am in the hospital having baby#5 and do a good, thorough cleaning. I've been less-than energetic lately and while the big kids and Zach are doing an admirable job of maintenance considering Zach is doing most of the cooking and childcare and finishing his last semester of school, it's rougher around the edges than usual. This is so great! We are all going to feel so much more relaxed if things are in good shape.

That is so great Stella -- last I was on the boards you just had your third baby. How exciting. Do you know if it is a boy or girl? Your last child from what I read you had another boy.

I agree the best baby gift and the best Dad! You and your family are very lucky to have your Dad there. My Grandma lived with us until I was 14. She passed away but I so needed her all the years she was there. Now, in my fifties I still remember things she did for me as a kid.

Stella, out of all the things I have done for my DIL, having the house immaculate when she came home with baby #2 was the gift she appreciated most. I even cleaned every sheet and blanket in the house, as well as all their clothes.

It is a great idea for anyone to give as a gift.

That's an awesome gift. I wasn't much of a "nester" when pregnant and never really got things as clean and organized before DD came. It would have been nice to have a clean house, especially because we had a lot of visitors after the baby was born.

Well, did the gift materialize, at least while you were in the hospital? I only ask because it seemed like you went to the hospital like about 2 minutes after you posted this. :laff: Hopefully it did happen or is forthcoming :)
