We went to village-wide garage sales today and I found a stainless steel 12 quart stock pot for $5. I asked at a few sales and also at this one if they had one to sell and the woman brought it out of a cabinet in the garage. She asked $10, I countered $5. I can't believe how excited I am to have scored this. Last year I taught myself how to can and did not have a big enough pot. What a pain it was to keep cleaning off the stove. This year will be different! BTW I checked and this brand sells $69-$120.... this pot looks more like the high end. :laff:

We were lucky a few years ago to get one of those huge stock pots with two colander inserts for steaming. Much too big for us, but a friend uses it to process vegetables. I think it was $15. It is amazing what can be found at garage sales.

Once I had just finished the handsewing on a huge grandmother's flower garden quilt top when we found a finished one twin sized for $20. Hubby asked me why I made my own? Almost thumped him on the head.

Oooh, that stockpot was a major score! Congrats!!

I'm also easy to please--ran into a sale at a local discount store today and got two nice, good-fitting cotton tee's--one in coral and one in basic black--two for $5.00. Definitely not in the same league as your stockpot score, but I needed 'em and am happy.
