Hi everyone,

I am recuperating from one heck of a bad winter. I am not used to having a weak constitution, and as a result I repeatedly go overboard cleaning, gardening, hiking and end up back in bed for a couple of days. I'm making no progress at all this way, and I want to look forward to a healthy summer!

My thought is that I need to have a plan to progressively strengthen myself. I'm posting here in hopes that I'll feel more of a committment to my plan. Anyone want to join me?

Here is my personal plan for the first two weeks:
*Take a short walk (>30 min.) twice a day.
*Practice yoga breathing and brief meditation twice a day.
*Do some restorative, easy yoga every day (cat-cow, child's pose, spinal twist on the floor. 5-10 minutes.)
*Eat mostly fresh fruits and vegetables - lots of soup.
*Take my medications and herbal supplements exactly as directed (this is one I forget.)
*Take a break after 15 minutes of vigorous gardening or housework.
*Check in with my body frequently. Ask myself "what do I need right now?"
*Write in my gratitude journal nightly.
*Get enough sleep, but not too much.

I'll evaluate after 2 weeks and see how I feel and what changes need to be made.

Would anyone else like to (gently) get themselves back in shape? What is your plan?

Hi Redfox!
That sounds great - wish I could get out there on a bike!
The hard part for me right now is that I have so much going on in my life and taking care of myself is always way down on my list of priorities. So by doing this, I'm trying to make my health my number one priority - which is surprisingly hard!

I think that even having the intention makes a difference.

I woke up too late for my morning walk, but did pranayama (yogic breathing) in the bathroom at work.
Farmer's market today - which I can walk to and stock up on - I've been living on toast, mostly.
