So, since that poor little boy of mine has to listen to SO MUCH business talk, he's decided to start a business of his own.

As you might recall, some weeks ago be bought him some lego and other items for his "office" at our business. He sees this space as his office, and over the past several weeks, many clients as well as practitioners have asked him if it would be ok to join him in playing with lego. He gives them permission, and they all say that it's actually quite relaxing. Others, who have asked to use the room to change their clothes when other rooms are full (namely the guys), have asked if they could just play lego instead of doing yoga.

This morning, as we were driving into the office, wherein DS would join his friend and go to the observatory for the Space Club, DS told us of "His Plan."

He wants to rent his office space to other people as a "passive income stream" wherein they would utilize his lego. His "target market" would be the most stressed out professionals who, quite frankly, just need to have some time doing something very enjoyable and creative: playing lego. In order to reach this market, his primary strategy is to make "lego accessible to them" in half hour and hour long chunks of time, with a limit of how many people can play lego at once. That number is 3 -- so up to three bookings per hour/half hour. The price point is, as ever, "based on what the market will bear" and as such, we need to do some "market research." He then presented a business plan to us (scribbles on a page) with his notes on the back (more scribbles).

He thinks that procuring more legos and also, in particular, more wheels, is of paramount importance, as it woudl allow up to three clients to play lego and they can all make cars -- and he hopes, for multiple cars for each person. He thinks that the long-term goal would be to hold "lego classes" of a sort in the yoga room, wherein each mat would get a selection of legos (including wheels), and then get to utilize the space for 45 minutes. Each person could choose to share their lego and bring mats together, or simply play lego by themselves.

And his primary marketing slogan: Relax and Lego.

He wants us to write a blog, put it on event finder, make a flyer, and help him do the market research for the price point. He figures that this will allow him to "procure more lego over time" as well as "save up to visit japan" and "pay for kindy."

He cracks me up.

And yes, we're going to market this internally.

OMG, Zoe! That is freakin' hysterical! And how is Hawk again - 4?

Use his proceeds to "pay for kindy"!? :moon:

This kid is going to be positively *dangerous* when he gets older!

Wonderful. He is listening to the important talk (it is not hidden) and trying out the words and thoughts to see how they "feel" and fit.

He might be the next business guru in the making or maybe a Bill Gates.

We do have to harness that energy at a young age. I know both of my boys each designed glass items when they were 4 and 5 that we still sell today and they are about to turn 15 and 16. They get commissions on each of their designs when they sell.

I love his slogan! My poor, dull brain would never come up with something so clever. I think you have a real business mogul in the making.

Can I buy the China franchise rights? Or maybe my son should. He's been saving his allowance and has $2000 in his bank account. Tell Hawk and maybe they can work out a deal :)

He's quite excited about it. Industrious little soul.
