Okay...first a little explanation: little miss shabby http://www.littlemissshabby.com/ posted a block of the month quilt project that I am working on.

The embroidery part has been so much fun that I'd like to do some more embroidering, particularly some individual 'primitive' cows, sheep and pigs. You know the kind? Long and totally out of proportion, with skinny little legs. I have not been able to find any online turorials. Please help! :(
The picture is part of the quilt top...lots more work to do, but just to give you an idea.

OMG! The quilt is beautiful! Wow! I particularly love the colours you've selected!

Wonder and think no more, as to how to draw a cow. If you type in "how to draw a cow", then do a Google Image search, and all kinds of super-easy to draw cows come up. :)

ETA: Do let me know how you made out with it, Small & Friendly.

WOW! What a beautiful quilt, it looks so crisp and I love the colors and embroidery! You can also look for free cow clip art on the Internet and browse through. You most likely will find something that you can copy and trace. Do like fidgiegirl's cow too...

Just wondering if you are making this quilt for yourself or someone else? So cute...by the way you have done a great job on the embroidery. Stella on the boards here also likes to embroider...;)

I love your quilt. I don't quilt, but I used to enjoy embroidery, and decided to get back into it. Stella's posts influenced me. Now yours has also.:thankyou:

cow-hiSorry, I can't even draw a primitive cow.

Do you feel it has to be drawn, not stenciled?

Here's a link to draw a cow very simply:

Tiam...that's a cute cow, but still a little 'real' looking proportion wise. I need to make a trip to the library and see they have anything. Everyone, thank you for your kind remarks, but honestly, all the credit goes to little miss shabby for her creativity and generousity in posting free blocks of the month. ( any experienced quilter will see all my mistakes! LOL) Her pattern called for 8 inch blocks. I made mine 6 inches, so the finished quilt will be crib size.
