Interesting article about a small town where a lot of the residents are growing front lawn vegetable gardens for others to take the produce for free:

P.S. a typo in the tag line could not be edited unless someone else can give me some directions on how to fix it. Thanks.
Oh, how fantastic! Thank you.

That's great! I've noticed a lot more people in my area are growing food. Am also seeing more fruit trees in place of lawns. I grow as much food as I can, and belong to a local organic co op. It's so rewarding!

I agree awakened soul that it is so rewarding to have your own garden. We are renting right now and I miss it SO much. I always feel like a little kid at the excitement of seeing the sprouts come up and watching daily as they grow.
Great that you are seeing fruit trees on lawns and that you grow as much as you can. What do you grow? An organic co-op sounds great...

From what I have read on their site and of the diverse news articles, it's a very positive snowball effect as more and more gardens are created. I think the high visibility of many of the gardens keeps the gardens at the forefront of people's thoughts.
