Have known for a while that I am very sensitive to sugar...it effects the way I feel down to how I think and function. I am wondering if there are others that are the same way? How do you deal with it? The simple answer is to stay away from the stuff but unfortunately it isn't that simple is it?

I'm a firm believer in the idea behind "less sugar- better health". I tend to have more energy when I'm off sugar or have reduced my sweet-tooth intake. I feel so complete and well-balanced without it.

One way I tend to justify and comfort myself for those times when I slip/fall, is doing extra, in the way of housework or outside work (to burn it off).

I find I go in spurts Re: sugar and sweets. I can go weeks, even months without, then, suddenly, without cause, warning, or notice, it's there! My sugar craving. When it gets to the craving side of things, there's just no shaking it. The only way I quench the craving is to full-fill it. A soda pop, a chocolate bar, a pasty (or two)... shame on me... or whatever I can get my hands on to satisfy the craving.

Don't be too hard on yourself over it. If you can, just work from day-to-day, to attempt to get to where you want to be, and if you fall off the wagon (like I do so often), simply dust off your pants and carry on where you left off. Some things in life are a battle, and for me, sugar, is one of them.

P.S. If ever you need support or want to start-up a sugar-free challenge, let me know. I'll be there for you!

I definitely feel the effects of sugar as well. For me, sugar = lower energy, more cravings, aching joints.

Yes, I am very sensitive to sugar and need to stay away from it. I feel so much better without it! But that being said I have sadly been on a sugar kick for a few weeks now and I need to get off! Things have been stressful lately and sweets are a big comfort to me, but in the long run make me feel even worse.... :(

Definitely sensitive to sugar and I stay away from it now that my Mom became diabetic. Have cut out all sugar and feel so much better than that tiredness that would come over me after the sugar-high. I really think it is addictive too.

I have found that consuming sugar simply makes me crave more sugar. And I must be allergic to it because it causes me to break out in fat! LOL!!

I was always bemused when people talked about getting an energy burst from sugar; if anything, it always had the opposite effect on me. I eat it from time to time, but mostly I avoid it and the starchy carbohydrates that amount to the same thing. I got through the toughest times of my life consciously eating meats, cheeses, and nuts because I couldn't afford to deal with the blood sugar spikes carbohydrates would have produced.
